Authorizing the Issuance of a New Class C Plenary Retail Consumption License (Hotel/Motel Exception), License No. 1221-36-034-001, for the 2026-2027 Licensing Term

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 33:1-12.20, a municipality may issue a new Plenary Retail Consumption License to a person operating a hotel or motel containing at least one hundred (100) guest sleeping rooms, notwithstanding the limitation on the number of plenary retail consumption licenses otherwise authorized within the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Township of South Brunswick, by Resolution No. 2026-204 authorized the issuance of one (1) new Class C Plenary Retail Consumption License (Hotel/Motel Exception) through a public bidding process in accordance with applicable law; and
WHEREAS, following the public bidding process, the Township Council determined that AIM Hotels Group, LLC was the successful qualified bidder for said license; and
WHEREAS, the Township Council has determined that the issuance of said license is authorized pursuant to N.J.S.A. 33:1-12.20, subject to compliance with all applicable provisions of Title 33 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the regulations of the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, and applicable Township ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the Township Council desires to authorize the issuance of a new Class C Plenary Retail Consumption License (Hotel/Motel Exception), License No. 1221-36-034-001, for the 2026-2027 licensing term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED on this 7th day of October, 2026 by the Township Council of the Township of South Brunswick, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The Township Council hereby authorizes the issuance of a new Class C Plenary Retail Consumption License (Hotel/Motel Exception), License No. 1221-36-034-001, to AIM Hotels Group, LLC, t/a Hyatt House Monroe for the 2026-2027 licensing term, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, subject to all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
2. The license shall be issued for the licensed premises located at 105 Interchange Plaza, Monroe Township, NJ 08831
3. This license is issued as a Hotel/Motel Exception License pursuant to N.J.S.A. 33:1-12.20, and shall be subject to the statutory requirements applicable to such license, including the requirement that the licensed establishment qualify as a hotel or motel containing at least one hundred (100) guest sleeping rooms.
4. The Township Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to execute and process all necessary licensing documents and submit the appropriate application and licensing information to the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
5. The issuance of this license shall be subject to payment of all applicable State and municipal licensing fees and satisfaction of all requirements imposed by the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
6. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
