Wishing Raymond Olsen Success in His Retirement

WHEREAS, Raymond Olsen retired on October 1, 2026, after more than 58 years of dedicated service to the Township of South Brunswick and its residents; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Olsen began his career with the Township on May 28, 1968, and over the course of his distinguished career advanced to the position of Assistant Director of Public Works in 1989 and was appointed Director of Public Works in 1995, serving in that position for 31 years until his retirement; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career with the Township of South Brunswick, Raymond Olsen attained the professional credentials of Certified Public Works Manager (CPWM) and Principal Public Works Manager (PPWM), demonstrating his commitment to the public works profession and to providing quality service to the South Brunswick community; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Olsen also became a Notary Public, further expanding his professional qualifications and ability to serve the Township and its residents; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Olsen has served as the Region 5 Vice President of the New Jersey Public Works Association, representing Middlesex and Monmouth Counties; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Olsen was recognized by the New Jersey Public Works Association with its Public Works Dedication & Excellence Award and received special recognition from the American Public Works Association for his longstanding service in the public works profession; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Olsen has served as a volunteer member of the South Brunswick Shade Tree Commission for the past forty-two years, further demonstrating his longstanding commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Township Council wish to recognize and express their sincere appreciation to Raymond Olsen for his more than 58 years of dedicated service to the Township of South Brunswick and its residents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, on this 7th day of October, 2026, by the Township Council of the Township of South Brunswick, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, that we extend to Raymond Olsen our sincere appreciation for his dedicated service and our best wishes for health, happiness, and success in his retirement and future endeavors.
