Providing for the Insertion of a Special Item of Revenue in the 2026 Budget Pursuant to N.J.S. 40A:4-87 (Chapter 159, P. L. 1948) NJ Department of Environmental Protection Green Communities Grant

WHEREAS, N. J. 40A: 4-87 provides that the Director of the Division of Local Government Services may approve the insertion of any special item of revenue in the budget of any county or municipality when such item shall have been made available by law and the amount thereof was not determined at the time of the adoption of the budget, and
WHEREAS, said Director may also approve the insertion of any item of appropriation for equal amount.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED on this 7th,day of October, 2026 that the Township of South Brunswick hereby requests the Director of the Division of Local Government Services to approve the insertion of an item of revenue in the budget of the year 2026 in the sum of $20,000.00, which item is now available as a revenue to South Brunswick Township from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, The New Jersey Urban and Community Forestry Program (NJUCF) for the Green Communities Inventory and CFMP Development Grant to conduct a tree inventory and create a new Community Forest Management Plan (CFMP), see section 1 (a) below: pursuant to the provisions of statute, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a like sum of $20,000.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated under the caption of:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above is the result of: Grant approval received from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in the amount of $20,000.00.
